Wilco Music Video
YouTube

Rock band Wilco recently released their tenth studio album titled “Schmilco” which includes the breezy tune “Someone to Lose.” The group shared the music video for the single, which happens to be a stunning claymation piece.

The clip was created by Joseph Baughman and features a griffin in a “Lorax”-looking field, a bride and groom dancing in and around a wedding cake and a scene that reminds us of King Kong’s Empire State Building moment.

The folksy song features an acoustic guitar and minimal drums with an electric guitar to jazz up the chorus. “Schmilco” is the band’s latest album since 2015’s surprise LP “Star Wars.” In an interview with Rolling Stone, frontman Jeff Tweedy described the album as “joyously negative.” Adding, “It’s sad in a lot of ways but not in any that reach a conclusion of doom or hopelessness. I just had a lot of fun being sour about the things that upset me.”

Stop-motion animation videos have been popular among artists. Other impressive claymation creations include Radiohead’s “Burn the Witch,” released back in May, Nina Simone’s “My Baby Just Cares for Me” and Glass Animal’s 2014 video for “Pools.”
