‘Sickhouse’ Trailer: Snapchat-Produced Horror Thriller Heads to Vimeo
How to deal with the rise of mobile viewing is a problem many filmmakers and exhibitors have grappled with over the last few years, often coming to wildly different conclusions. The team behind “Sickhouse” has chosen to embrace it. Billing itself as “the made-for-mobile movie,” writer/director Hannah Macpherson’s horror thriller was filmed (vertically) entirely via Snapchat in real-time. Watch its trailer above.
Not unlike last year’s “Unfriended,” the film features a cast of young, social media–obsessed friends. This time around, they tempt fate by venturing into the woods and find themselves near the eponymous location. There are three rules when visiting the Sickhouse, one of them explains: don’t make noise, never go inside, always leave a gift on the porch.

Leading the ensemble are Andrea Russett and Sean O’Donnell, both of whom boast extensive followings on social media. “Sickhouse” had a live premiere on Snapchat and is now available for pre-order exclusively on Vimeo, where it will be available for viewing on June 1.
