Attention, Filmmakers! $100,000 in Grants Could Fund Your World Travel Documentary
For all of the dangerously adventurous and travel-hungry documentarians out there–The Explorers Club and Foundation Mamont has your golden ticket, and its worth a $100,000. If you’re interested in showcasing a scientific achievement in the name of research, or you have a passion for documenting world discoveries, then jump on this train and submit an application by October 1.
The project was coined by the president of The Explorers Club, Alan Nicholas, and the grant is meant to give that talented someone–whether they be scientist, filmmaker or explorer–the chance to open the eyes of curious others by experiencing, documenting and authenticating a life-changing exploration of both science and the environment.
Entries will be reviewed and audited by a select Explorers Club scientific/exploration panel headed by club member Les Guthman, the Emmy-nominated creator and executive producer of “Outside Television” and the “Discover Magazine” television series. Making nature documentaries is a familiar activity to Guthman, director of documentaries such as “Skiing Everest,” “The Hudson Riverkeepers” and “The Waterkeepers.” For more information about the grant program, visit The Explorers Club website.
