‘1922’ Trailer: Stephen King’s Haunting Novella Comes to Netflix Just in Time for Halloween

If you thought Pennywise was terrifying, just wait until Stephen King unleashes the rats in "1922."
1922 Trailer: Stephen King Novella Comes to Netflix

Netflix must be pretty happy over the fact that “It” is the highest grossing horror film in box office history. The streaming giant is surely hoping all the recent Stephen King attention will turn two upcoming originals into hits: “Gerald’s Game” and “1922.” The trailer has officially premiered for the latter, and you should not watch it if rats give you the creeps.

“1922” is based off the King novella that was featured in his 2010 collection “Full Dark, No Stars.” Thomas Jane plays a farmer who conspires to kill his wife (Molly Parker) and recruits his son to help him commit the crime. But the wife won’t go down without a haunting, and soon the farmer is attacked by rats and becomes convinced his dead former lover is haunting him from beyond the grave.

Stephen King has been everywhere this year, from “It” to “The Dark Tower” and the television series “Mr. Mercedes.” “1922” and “Gerald’s Game” both hit Netflix this fall, making the streaming giant the next place to be for King adaptations.

“1922” debuts on Netflix October 20, just in time for Halloween. Watch the trailer below.
