The film stars Scarlett Johansson as a woman who, as the result of a traumatic incident, begins to have access to a larger percentage of her brain power, leading to “super human” abilities. The film co-stars Morgan Freeman as a professor who theorized the very thing that is happening to Lucy.

“Lucy” will open the festival on August 6. Besson will introduce the film on the Piazza Grande just ahead of the film’s Swiss release. The film opens July 25 in North America.
