Though the Emmys are more than a month away, you can now watch the first of seven roundtables uploaded by The Hollywood Reporter as part of a series leading up to the award ceremony in September.

Lizzy Caplan (“Masters of Sex”), Maggie Gyllenhaal (“The Honorable Woman”), Taraji P. Henson (“Empire”), Jessica Lange (“American Horror Story: Freak Show”), Viola Davis (“How To Get Away With Murder”) and Ruth Wilson (“The Affair”) all took part in the Best Drama Actress roundtable to share their personal experiences with race, sexism, age and typecasting in Hollywood, and how those issues have affected their work.

The nominees also revealed a few anecdotes surrounding the characters for which they are nominated, from Henson’s inspiration for the fiery Cookie Lyon to Wilson’s wish for her contract to state that “For every female orgasm, there had to be a male orgasm,” keeping the hour-long conversation grounded, candid and fun.

The Hollywood Reporter will continue to air their Emmy roundtables every Sunday leading up to the 2015 Primetime Emmy Awards on September 20. Take a look at the full conversation with the Best Drama Actress nominees above, via The Hollywood Reporter.
