‘Veronica Mars’ Gets a Digital Spinoff

First it was a television show. Then it was a Kickstarter-funded movie. And now “Veronica Mars” will become a web series, the CW announced today. CW Digital is overseeing the project with series creator Rob Thomas.

The “Veronica Mars” movie will have its world premiere at the upcoming SXSW Festival before its theatrical debut on March 14, a year and a day after the Kickstarter campaign launched. The web series won’t launch until after the movie is released and will probably span 6-8 episodes, 5-10 minutes in length, according to USA Today.
