‘Stranger Things’ Gets Re-Imagined as an 8-Bit Video Game
“Stranger Things” continues to be a source of inspiration for many – something that we certainly don’t mind when the projects are just as entertaining as the Netflix series. A new “8 Bit Cinema” short film was created by CineFix, which re-imagines the story as a classic video game, and the result is genius!
“The show is widely known for its ‘80s vibes but watching it in 8-bit really digs deeper into our nostalgia,” stated CineFix on the video’s description. The four-minute clip begins with the four friends playing in the basement, then shows Will getting abducted, the appearance of Eleven and the gang’s search to find their friend from the upside-down.

CineFix has previously created other “8 Bit Cinema” videos for movies like “The Revenant,” the original “Star Wars” trilogy, “Pan’s Labyrinth” and “Mad Max: Fury Road,” among others.
Since its debut on Netflix, the Duffer brothers-created series has been a hit and is most certainly on its way to cementing itself in pop culture history. Viewers have become obsessed with “Stranger Things” and created parodies, made remixes of the theme song, and even come up with conspiracy theories including the fan-favorite, that Steve is John Ralphio’s father. Not too long ago a fan-made video also reimagined “Stranger Things” as “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” and featured the cast in the opening credits sequence of the Joss Whedon drama.
