Stephen Colbert knows the internet pretty well. So well, in fact, that he and his team have already started the marketing push for his new gig hosting “The Late Show” three months ahead of its official September 8th premiere. Those of us who have followed Colbert’s post-Comedy Central lifestyle have no doubt heard about “The Colbeard,” which the former host of “The Colbert Report” grew in celebration of ending his 9-year run as a clean-shaven satirical political pundit. His new job, however, will require a bit of a makeover.

“CBS is making me shave it off because Tom Selleck’s mustache has a non-compete clause,” explains Colbert in the hilarious new promo. But what’s a little shave between a man and his Internet fans without some fun to be had? After a hilarious intro, Colbert debuts a few new mid-shave looks such as “The Un-Hitler” and “The Half Wolverine,” both of which should be pretty self explanatory, while making sure to drop every bit of shaved hair on his half-eaten hot dog.

Even though “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” is still very much in a pre-production phase, its marketing push is already out in full force. The show already has a presence on social media and has posted a podcast and a promotional iPhone app in addition to today’s teaser.

Watch the video here and let the countdown to September 8th begin.
