America loves the 1960s. With shows like “Mad Men” and “Masters of Sex” constantly being lauded for their costumes and set designs, “Bang Bang Baby,” the upcoming debut film from Jeffrey St. Jules, looks to be a unique addition to the multitude of recent works that have attempted to capture the era.

The film follows a small town girl (Jane Levy) who aspires to be a singer. Luckily enough, she gets her chance when the handsome rock star she worships (Justin Chatwin) gets stranded in town. Seems pretty generic, right? Wrong. Things start to get bizarre after a leak is discovered at a nearby chemical plant.

“Bang Bang Baby” will make its world premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. A U.S. release date has not been announced.

For now, here’s an exclusive trailer for the film.
