‘Narcos’ Renewed for Seasons 3 and 4 by Netflix – Watch The Trailer

The War on Drugs is not over, at least not on Netflix. Just a few days after Season Two was released, the streaming giant has confirmed the renewal of “Narcos” for two more seasons. Watch the trailer below.

“Narcos” follows the infamous Colombian Medellín cartel that centered around drug kingpin Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura) and the U.S. and Colombian law enforcement that battled to bring him down. While the first season tracked Escobar’s rise in the ’70s and ’80s, the second season culminates in his death in 1993, when Escobar suffered a fatal blow to the ear during a shootout after a 15 month search.

So where to go after the death of the “King of Cocaine”, you ask? The series creators insist the show was never about Escobar, but rather about the War on Drugs, and there’s still plenty more story where that came from. The third season will presumably follow where Escobar left off, and track those who step in to helm the business of blow in his wake. Rumor has it we will be seeing some Cali Cartel action.

José Padilha (“Elite Squad,” “RoboCop”) and Eric Newman (“Children of Men”) will continue to serve as “Narcos” executive producers. The first two seasons are both available on Netflix, and the third season will premiere in 2017.
