The Orchard Nabs U.S. Rights NYC Nightlife Drama 'Club Life'

Film distributor The Orchard has picked up all North American rights to “Club Life,” a New York City nightlife drama from Radar Pictures. Directed by Fabrizio Conte and written and produced by Danny A. Abeckaser (“The Iceman,” “Holy Rollers”), the film stars Jerry Ferrara (“Entourage”) as Johnny D., a struggling night club promoter who falls under the wing of a legendary nightlife lord (Abeckaser) and uncovers the underbelly of the New York and Las Vegas club scenes. The film is based on Abeckaser’s real life experiences.

“I’m thrilled to be working with Radar and The Orchard in releasing the story of a young New York club promoter eager to make his mark on the big scene,” said Abeckaser. “This is a story I’ve wanted to tell for a very long time. With The Orchard’s running slate of films, I knew this passion project of mine would be in very good hands through their distribution.”

The acquisition represents the second collaboration between Radar Pictures’ Ted Field and Danny Abeckaser. The true-to-life drama also stars Jessica Szhor (“Gossip Girl”) and Robert Davi (“The Goonies”) and will be released in the United States and Canada in Spring/Summer 2015.
