If you were waiting for a powerful, standout scene to surface in the trailers for HBO‘s upcoming drama, “The Normal Heart,” your wait has ended. The Emmys-frontrunner for Best Television Movie gave us a glimpse at Mark Ruffalo‘s passionate plea for much deserved and necessary attention in a new 45-second spot. The same scene could be heard in the movie’s original teaser, but the presentation in the latest spot makes it stand out like never before.

Based on Larry Kramer’s Tony-award winning — and largely autobiographical — play, “The Normal Heart” also stars Taylor Kitsch, Matt Bomer, Jim Parsons, and Julia Roberts. It chronicles activists, doctors, and every day citizens’ fight for awareness regarding the HIV/AIDS virus during the early ’80s in New York City. Ryan Murphy is directing with Kramer adapting his own play for the small screen. 

“The Normal Heart” premieres on HBO May 25th. Check out the new spot below.
