‘Or Die Trying’ Looks to Use Web Series to Advance Women in Film

"In our real lives we aren't asking for permission, we are fighting for our dreams daily."
Indiewire's Project of the Day: 'Or Die Trying'

Here’s your daily dose of an indie film, web series, TV pilot, what-have-you in progress — at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a project you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

Or Die Trying

Logline: A series about women in film, by women in film! Four ambitious women attempt to achieve their own definition of success, while dealing with the struggles of being a millennial in Hollywood.

Elevator Pitch:
Like its creators, “Or Die Trying,” is comprised of creative females living and working in Los Angeles, in varying aspects of the entertainment industry. The producing team is committed to hiring 85% or more of our crew to be filled with fellow women in film, to not only progress the narrative of women in film on screen, but in a practical way off screen as well.

Production Team:

Myah Hollis – Executive Producer, Writer, Actor

Sarah Hawkins – Producer, Actor

Chelsea London Lloyd – Co-Producer, Actor

Jenny Austin – Co-Producer, Actor

2Fridas – Directing Team (comprised of Daniela de Carlo & Camila Martins)

About the Film:
“Or Die Trying” tells the universal truth that dreams are worth fighting for. As women in the film industry ourselves, it’s important to us that we make a series about women in film, by women in film. That means hiring all the crazy-inspiring, badass women to contribute to our message in an authentic and poignant way. In our real lives we aren’t asking for permission, we are fighting for our dreams daily. Our hope is that we can inspire further conversation about women in film and progress its very narrative with the creation of our series.

Current Status: Fundraising for production costs, almost to greenlight!
