The singer/songwriter and session musician has been described as changing the face of American music, and he was heavily involved in the Muscle Shoals country scene. Although he doesn’t have the same name recognition of some of his peers, the documentary aims to introduce America to one of its great artists before the release of his first album in ten years.
“Undeniably Donnie” is narrated by Kris Kristofferson and features talking heads from legendary country music stars like Kristofferson himself, Willie Nelson, John Prine and T-Bone Burnett. These former collaborators speak highly of Fritts and his career, emphasizing his impact on the history of music while creating a personal portrait of the man himself.
