FilmBuff Picks Up Eliza Dushku Dramedy ‘Jane Wants a Boyfriend’

FilmBuff has licensed U.S. distribution to the female-driven comedy-drama “Jane Wants a Boyfriend,” starring Louisa Krause, Eliza Dushku, Gabriel Ebert and Amir Arison. Directed by William C. Sullivan and written by Jarrett Kerr, the movie won the Jury Prize for Best Ensemble Cast at the 2015 Napa Valley Film Festival. Krause was also awarded the Audience Award for Favorite Actress.

The official synopsis reads: “‘Jane Wants a Boyfriend’ centers around Jane – a bright-eyed young woman in her mid 20’s living with autism – and her overprotective and recently engaged older sister, Bianca. When their parents announce that they are moving out of their Brooklyn brownstone and heading to the suburbs of New Jersey, they propose the sisters move in together – a suggestion that throws Bianca’s newly engaged life through a loop and forces her to re-examine her relationship with her sister.”

“‘Jane’ is a very personal film that has impacted me and everyone involved. I’m very excited to introduce the film to a wider audience through our partnership with Filmbuff,” said Sullivan in an official statement. “We will now have the opportunity to connect with individuals on the spectrum all over the country, to help inspire them, their families, and anyone who want to be loved and treated equally.”

FilmBuff will release the film in theaters and on all major On Demand platforms starting March 25. Platforms include Amazon Instant Video, Comcast’s Xfinity TV, Google Play, iTunes, Time Warner Cable, Verizon FiOS, Vudu, and Xbox. Watch the trailer above.
