Timothy Olyphant Mocks Seth Meyers Over Their ‘Friendship,’ Claims to Have Directed ‘Titanic’

The "Santa Clarita Diet" and "Justified" star livened up the typical "Late Night" interview.

If Seth Meyers didn’t already have enough on his plate right now, following the very dramatic birth of his son on Sunday, he had Timothy Olyphant to contend with during Tuesday’s episode of “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”

While reviews of the Netflix series “Santa Clarita Diet” have been mixed, one consistent element is that Olyphant, who plays a harried realtor trying to keep his zombie wife under control, is consistently one of the show’s funniest qualities.

This might come as a bit of a surprise, given Olyphant’s legendary work on dramas like “Justified” and “Deadwood.” However, as seen below, Olyphant’s latest “Late Night” appearance once again upended what we expect from the standard celebrity talk show interview, from his introduction (which he deliberately disrupts) to his later claim to have won the 1998 Best Directing Oscar for the film “Titanic.” Most importantly, he challenges Meyers on the most important question of all: Are they really friends?

Watch the clip below to see what real “friendship” looks like, as well as enjoy Olyphant’s stories about what it was like to work with Billy Zane. “Santa Clarita Diet” Season 2 is streaming now on Netflix.
