After winning two Golden Globes and receiving eight Emmy nominations, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” is back. Amazon has released the trailer for season two of the acclaimed series, which won Globes for Best Television Series — Musical or Comedy and Best Actress in the same category for star Rachel Brosnahan. Avail yourself of said preview below.
Set in 1950s New York, the show follows its eponymous heroine as she embarks on a stand-up-comedy career following the dissolution of her marriage. The first season showed Mrs. Maisel’s genuine skill for making audiences laugh, as well as her difficulty navigating the business side of showbiz — something she’s assisted in by her newfound manager (Alex Borstein, a fellow Emmy nominee alongside Brosnahan). The trailer only shows brief glimpses of what’s in store, but Borstein does give some valuable advice near the end.
We have “Gilmore Girls” and “Bunheads” creator to thank for “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” which also stars Michael Zegen, Tony Shalhoub, and Marin Hinkle. Season 2 comes to Amazon later this year.
