Robert Pattinson Used to Live With Dustin Diamond, Who Introduced Him to the Magic of Hot Pockets

Sounds like they had a good time together.

Before he was a staple of the festival circuit collaborating with world-renowned auteurs in movies like James Gray’s “The Lost City of Z” and David Cronenberg’s “Maps to the Stars,” Robert Pattinson starred in the “Twilight” franchise. And before he got his big break in that YA series, he was but another would-be star hoping to make it big — a period in his life that apparently included a stint as Dustin Diamond’s roommate.

Pattinson didn’t just live with the former “Saved by the Bell” star, however — he “loved it. I really miss it,” the actor revealed in a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest. The discussion was occasioned by the release of the Safdie Brothers’ “Good Time,” which premiered at Cannes earlier this year and finds a never-better Pattinson playing a low-level criminal in Queens, New York.

Moreover, revealed the actor, “Dustin was the first person to introduce me to Hot Pockets!” That’s quite the detail, as well as a tease — He neglected to mention which flavor of Hot Pocket he and Diamond used to enjoy together. Did they go for basic pepperoni, perhaps, or were they so refined as to go for ham & cheese, which is clearly the best varietal? The world may never know.
