Diego Luna and More Join Cannes’ Un Certain Regard Jury — Indiewire’s Thursday Rundown

The Cannes Film Festival has announced its juries for Un Certain Regard, the Short Films Competition and Cinefondation and the Camera d’or. The Un Certain Regard jury includes actress Marthe Keller, actress Celine Sallette, director Ruben Ostend and Diego Luna. The Short Films Competition and Cinefondation jury includes the already announced president Naomi Kawase, along with actress Marie-Josee Croze, filmmaker Jean-Marie Larrieu, filmmaker Radu Muntean and filmmaker Santiago Loza. The Camera d’or jury includes Catherine Corsini, Jean-Christopher Berjon, Alexander Rodnyansky, Isabelle Frilley and Jean-Marie Dreujoj.

– The Greenwich International Film Festival announced its Centerpiece film programming. The four-day event, set to run June 9-12, will screen Rob Burnett’s “The Fundamentals of Caring,” Sophie Goodhart’s “My Blind Brother” and Kim Snyder’s “Newtown” as part of the section.

– The ArteCareyes Film & Arts Festival has announced its annual lineup, including films “Leaf Blower,” “Semana Santa” and “You’ll Know What To Do With Me.” They have also announced their emerging filmmaker workshops is, led by Academy Award winner Pawel Pawlikowkski.The festival was founded in 2010 with the purpose of showcasing contemporary Mexican talent in the iconic Costa Careyes in order to create an experimental space for the community of Careyes and guests from all over the world to come together and discover the creative minds of Mexico. Find out more here. 

– Eight projects and eight producers from South Asia have been selected to participate in the 2016 Locarno Film Festival‘s Open Doors Lab. The program allows the participants to meet potential co-producers, sales agents and distributors to help them find funding to make their films. For the 14th edition, to be held August 4-9, eight projects have been selected for the Open Doors Hub.
