Gravitas Ventures Acquires Gillian Greene's Directorial Debut 'Murder of Cat'

Gravitas Ventures has announced the acquisition of U.S. and Canadian rights to newcomer Gillian Greene’s crime comedy “The Murder of a Cat.” The film was produced by Sam Raimi, Molly Hassell and Ivan Orlic. Bob Snow and Christian Magalhaes, writers on Fox’s hit series “New Girl,” penned the screenplay.

The film follows Clinton Moisey, your textbook 20-something “loser” still living in his mom’s basement. After he discovers that his best friend, Mouser the cat, has been impaled by a crossbow, he makes it his mission to solve the murder himself. Starring Fran Kranz, Nikki Reed, J.K. Simmons, Blythe Danner and Greg Kinnear, “Murder of a Cat” offers a hilarious twist on film noir set in the quiet world of suburbia.

“Murder of a Cat” will be available in theaters, on demand, on Amazon and on iTunes in the U.S. and Canada on December 5.
