Here’s your daily dose of an indie film in progress — at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

Sibs

Tweetable Logline: After the sudden death of her father, Sophie has to decide whether or not she will become her teenage half-brother, Alister’s, guardian.

Elevator Pitch: 29-year-old Sophie, a struggling writer in New York, goes home for her father’s funeral and is met with a sudden decision of whether or not she will become her 12-year-old, now orphaned, half-brother Alister’s, guardian. In need of guidance, she turns to her own mother for help making the choice, but with little time to decide, Sophie has to confront her complicated feelings of whether she really wants to be a mother sooner than she thought.

Production Team:

Directed by: Cynthia Silver
Written and Produced by: Made with Sass and Samantha Slater
Shot by: Darian Brenner

Made with Sass is a film and web television production company dedicated to getting women behind the camera. Our mandate is that at least 50% of our team must be women. Our last short film, “Sleep Training” (currently under festival consideration) had a team of 80% women. Made with Sass’ web series, “Just Sayin'” has been featured at HollyWeb Fest, LA Web Fest, NYC Web Fest, IndieWorks, for three months at Channel 101 NY, and on My Damn Channel.

About the Film: The question: “Do I want to be a parent?” Almost every one of us will ask ourselves this at some point. For women, especially during a time where the world is beginning to embrace women’s lib with fervor, the question can create a lot of conflict within. To be career ambitious AND desire a family, for some, it starts to become terrifying, and can seem downright impossible. Can you have it all? Do I WANT to have it all? What if I don’t want to be a mother? That fear. That conflict. That’s what I want to talk about.

Current Status: Just finished week one of fundraising. About to begin pre-production.
