Brides to Be

Logline: The night before their wedding, two women must battle sinister forces in order to save themselves… and each other.

Elevator Pitch: “Brides to Be” is a paranormal thriller about love and the struggle to conquer hate. On the eve of her wedding, Jenna, an uncertain bride-to-be, Robin, her fiancée and Nate, her best and only friend, travel to a secluded fairy tale venue about to re-open after years of sitting vacant. But it doesn’t take long for an unexplained, deeply unsettling phenomena to begin terrorizing Jenna; and when Robin becomes a very real victim of the supernatural, Jenna must reject her doubt and have faith in love to overpower the forces against her. Can she save the woman of her dreams?

Production Team:
Writers/Directors/Producers: Kris & Lindy Boustedt
Production Company: First Sight Productions
Leading Ladies: Carollani Sandberg & Angela DiMarco (stars of popular short “Together Forever” – 1M+ views of YouTube)

About the Film: We strive to tell fascinating, entertaining stories about compelling women. “Brides to Be” is about the creeping dread of our own insecurities, doubts and anxieties writ large through paranormal activity. But we wanted to buck a trend of the genre by having the main characters be women with their own stories, strengths and vulnerabilities (instead of being props or screams) and feature non-exploited, non-marginalized, non-fetishized lesbian characters. Our favorite horror films are those that offer social commentary, that make us question the status quo of existence. But above all, this is a story about the power of love.

Current Status: We’re finishing post-production and running a campaign with Seed&Spark to gain distribution and the funds needed to complete the film.
