Project of the Day: 'Ashes'

Here’s your daily dose of an indie film in progress; at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

“Ashes”

Tweetable Logline: Two brothers search a post-apocalyptic wasteland for antibiotics to save their sister who’s dying from tuberculosis.

Elevator Pitch:
Ashes is a story about the kind of unconditional love only a family
member is capable of. Two brothers are searching a post-apocalyptic
wasteland for antibiotics to save their sister who’s dying from
tuberculosis. These brothers have lost everything to a nuclear fallout.
The only thing they have left is their sister and she’s dying. They set
out on a quest to find what she needs to save her, putting themselves at
great risk.

Production Team:

Director: Steven Roderick Jurich
Cinematographer: Rhys Waite
Producer(s): Josh Kotoff, Steven Roderick Jurich, RJ Hall

About the Production:
Ashes is important to me because it demonstrates exactly how far a human
being will go to save someone that they love. Often times the
post-apocalyptic genre comments on the decay of humanity and the loss of
this core human ability to care. Ashes takes the opposing viewpoint. In
the event of total disaster some if not all human beings will look to
cling to everything they understand, that they have left. Ashes is a
story about that love.

Current Status: Post-Production (Editing, Music, Mix, Visual Effects, Color Grading).
