Today’s Toronto announcement has told us that Darrell Roodt’s South African historical piece and Jennifer Hudson vehicle “Winnie” will make its debut at TIFF this year. And as Oscar prognosticators, history buffs, and diva worshippers get pumped for the film, we remembered this little snippet of a CNN broadcast in which Winnie Mandela expresses her disappointment that she was never consulted on the film. The film stars Jennifer Hudson in the titular role, and Terrence Howard as Nelson.
