Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s Animated ‘Sausage Party’ Set For Work-in-Progress Screening at SXSW
You’ve got to admire the simplicity of an idea like the one behind Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s “Sausage Party.” The animated tale reportedly follows “one sausage’s quest to discover the truth about his existence. After falling out of a shopping cart, our hero sausage and his new friends embark on a perilous journey through the supermarket to get back to their aisles before the Fourth of July sale.” That sausage’s name? “Frank,” voiced by Rogen himself. Frank.
Although the film is set to be released on August 16, we’ve seen zero footage of the feature so far, but that’s about to change in a big way when Rogen and Goldberg unveil a work-in-progress screening of the film at this month’s SXSW Film Festival. The event has just been added to the fest’s calendar, and fans of comedy, smoked meats and adult animated offerings will be able to check it out on Monday, March 14 at 9:15pm at Austin, Texas’ own Paramount Theater.

SXSW promises that the film “is about as raucous and hilarious as you’d expect from the fertile minds of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg,” with the added bonus of being about actual cased meats.
The film also features the voice talents of Kristen Wiig, Paul Rudd, Nick Kroll and Jonah Hill, “as well as some surprises.”
The 23rd South by Southwest Film Festival runs March 11-19 in Austin, Texas.
