Amazon’s tagline for Luca Guadagnino’s “Suspiria” reads “give your soul to the dance,” and that’s exactly what Dakota Johnson does in the first official clip below. The nearly two minutes of new footage arrives on the heels of last week’s full-length trailer. The clip features Johnson’s Susie Bannion performing a dance for Tilda Swinton‘s Madame Blanc, but her contortionist body movements and the swirling camera indicate something far more menacing is occurring.
“Suspiria” is Guadagnino’s reimagining of Dario Argento’s 1977 horror classic. The movie follows Bannion as she uncovers the dark secrets behind an world-renowned dance company, overseen by Swinton’s Madame Blanc. The release is a passion project for Guadagnino, whose last release, “Call Me by Your Name,” earned four Oscar nominations and a win earlier this year.
“Suspiria” is set to open in select New York and Los Angeles theaters on October 26. Amazon will expand the horror movie nationwide on November 2. Watch the first official first clip below.
