Tom Sizemore Launches Indiegogo Campaign for Detroit-Based Thriller
Tom Sizemore’s career has seen its share of ups and downs, but he aims to rebuild his image with his new film “An Honest Thief.” Written by his younger brother Aaron Sizemore, the noir-ish thriller follows three outcasts as they plan to steal a valuable baseball card collection from the neighborhood pawnbroker. The story is inspired by Sizemore’s uncles, who he was shocked to discovered in his early teens were thieves.
“An Honest Thief” will film on location in his hometown of Detroit, making this an especially personal project for the actor. Not only will Sizemore star in the film, but it also also mark his first endeavor as a producer. The filmmakers are looking to raise $500,000 on Indiegogo to supplement private funds. Perks for donors include t-shirts, walk-on roles, and even a lunch date with Tom Sizemore.
Sizemore is currently involved in a long list of independent projects in pre or post-production, including Millennium’s “Reach Me” with Sylvester Stallone and the crime biopic “Durant’s Never Closes.” For “An Honest Thief,” Giorgio Serafini, the Belgian director of “Gente Di Mare,” is attached to direct. Actors set to join Sizemore for the project include Danny Trejo (“Machete”), Sally Kellerman (“MASH”), and David Proval (“The Sopranos”).
