Later this month, the AFI Latin American Film Festival will take place at the famed Silver Silver Theatre in Silver Spring, Maryland. We now have the full lineup for the festival, which is celebrating its 25th year.
Featuring over 40 films from a mix of acclaimed directors and newbies, the festival celebrates the best in Latin American cinema (with submissions from Spain and Portugal allowed as well). “The Liberator,” a biopic about freedom fighter Simon Bolivar, will be the festival’s opening film. It has also been chosen by Venezuela as their Oscar submission.
