After more than a year and a half of development, A&E’s upcoming documentary series “Generation KKK” has officially been announced. If that title has you thinking the show will be a historical look back at the white-supremacist group, remember that this is 2016 and try not to be surprised at the news that the show will follow the Ku Klux Klan in its current form. “We certainly didn’t want the show to be seen as a platform for the views of the KKK,” A&E’s general manager, Rob Sharenow, told the Times. “The only political agenda is that we really do stand against hate.” Toward that end, the series will attempt to depict the lives of Klan members without lending credence to their racist views. The KKK made more headlines than usual this year, what with former leader David Duke enthusiastically supporting Donald Trump (who also received the endorsement of a Klan newspaper) and running for senate in Louisiana.
