The documentary “Amy” details the songwriting process of five-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse. The singer, who won Grammys for Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Song of the Year for her album “Back to Black” in 2008, famously struggled with drug and alcohol addiction before her death in 2011.

The clip features extreme closeups of Winehouse speaking and singing, as well as shots of her handwritten lyrics, while her manager Nick Schmansky speaks in voiceover about convincing her to become a songwriter.

“Amy” will screen at the Cannes Film Festival and premiere in U.K. theaters on July 3rd.
