Based on Christopher Barzak’s “One for Sorrow,” Carter Smith‘s supernatural thriller “Jamie Marks is Dead,” centers on three high school classmates: Adam McCormick, Gracie Highsmith and Jamie Marks. After Gracie finds Jamie’s dead body at the edge of a river, Adam’s life is suddenly turned upside down because Jamie’s ghost begins to haunt him. Over time, Adam and Jamie’s ghost grow close — with the latter helping the former cope with certain difficulties at home. With the mystery surrounding Jamie’s death looming over the town, however, all is not as it seems.

Cameron Monaghan stars as Adam, while Noah Silver plays Jamie. In this exclusive clip from the film, Adam has an uncomfortable verbal confrontation with his mother and his mother’s best friend, played by Liv Tyler and Judy Greer, respectively.

“Jamie Marks Is Dead” premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. The film is slated to open in theaters and will be also be available to watch on VOD and digital August 29.
