China Lion Film Distribution and Fox International Productions will co-distribute Wing Shya and Tony Chan’s “Love in Space,” the directing team’s follow-up to “Hot Summer Days.”

The story “follows a mother and her three grown daughters as they juggle their assorted love lives. Each woman is successful in everything except love – until they unexpectedly encounter new romances in Beijing, Sydney and even on a space shuttle.”

The romantic comedy will be released in China, North America, Australia and New Zealand on September 9.

LOS ANGELES, CA – July 12th, 2011. Fox International Productions has once again joined forces with China Lion Film Distribution, Inc., the Mandarin film publicity and distribution specialists, to co-distribute Fox’s Mandarin-language film LOVE IN SPACE in North America, Australia and New Zealand. Directed by Wing Shya and Tony Chan, LOVE IN SPACE is the follow up to the directing team’s Chinese box office hit, HOT SUMMER DAYS. The screenplay was written by Chan and Lucretia Ho, who previously collaborated on HOT SUMMER DAYS. The film is the second co-production between Fox International Productions and Huayi Brothers.

LOVE IN SPACE is an ensemble romantic comedy that follows a mother and her three grown daughters as they juggle their assorted love lives. Each woman is successful in everything except love – until they unexpectedly encounter new romances in Beijing, Sydney and even on a space shuttle.

Shot on location in Beijing and Sydney, the film stars Aaron Kwok, René Liu, Eason Chan, Gwei Lun Mei, Angelababy, Jing Boran, with a special appearance by Xu Fan. Returning cast members from HOT SUMMER DAYS include Taiwanese actress and pop singer, René Liu, Hong Kong model and actress Angelababy and Chinese pop singer and actor, Jing Boran. AFTERSHOCK star Xu Fan, Cantopop singer/actors Aaron Kwok and Eason Chan, and actress Gwei Lun Mei join the returning cast.

The film is set for release in China on September 9, 2011, and will release day-and-date in North America, Australia & New Zealand through China Lion’s exclusive deal with AMC for the US and Toronto and with Cineplex in Vancouver.
