Break out your purple bowling jumpsuit, because The Jesus is back! Production is underway on John Turturro‘s sequel to “The Big Lebowski,” officially titled “Going Places,” and today we have the premiere of the first official photo from the dramatic comedy, and boy is it wonderful to see Turturro’s Jesus Quintana back in action. Turturro, who is directing the movie without any involvement from the Coen Brothers, reprises his legendary bowler for the sequel, which also stars Bobby Cannavale, Audrey Tatou, Susan Sarandon and Sonia Braga.

The official synopsis reads: “John Turturro plays Jesus Quintana in ‘Going Places,’ a film about a trio of misfits whose irreverent, sexually charged dynamic evolves into a surprising love story as their spontaneous and flippant attitude towards the past or future backfires time and again, even as they inadvertently perform good deeds. When they make enemies with a gun-toting hairdresser, their journey becomes one of constant escape from the law, from society and from the hairdresser, all while the bonds of their outsider family strengthen.”

As we reported over the summer, “Going Places”  was initially titled “100 Minutes with Jesus” and is inspired by Bertrand Blier’s 1974 film “Les Valseuses.” Shooting is taking place in New York. No release plans have been set. Check out the first official photo above.
