The Song the Zombie Sang

Tweetable Logline: A legendary musician who is brought back to life each night to perform is confronted by a brilliant young musician who thinks he’s a fraud.

Elevator Pitch:

“The Song the Zombie Sang” is a feature length film based on the classic short story written by Harlan Ellison and Robert Silverberg. Nils Bekh is a legendary composer, who is reanimated nightly to perform his music for the adoring public. Rhoda is a gifted young musical prodigy who who thinks he is a fraud. After suffering a crushing setback in her career, she confronts Bekh one night after a concert. And the meeting will be a pivotal one for both her and the iconic composer.

Production Team:
A.T. Sayre – Director / Writer
Jonathan Salvo – Director of Photography

About the film: This film has been a dream project of mine for twenty years, ever since I first read the story in high school. It for me embodies the best parts of both independent film and science fiction. Even though the story takes place in a futuristic universe, its not about amazing gadgets or exotic aliens, nor does it have massive space battles that defy the laws of physics. “The Song the Zombie Sang” is about people, complex and very human and how they live in the universe of the story, and what that says about us in our world.

Current Status: We are running a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to try and predominantly (if not exclusively) finance this project.
