Hurricane Telethon ‘Hand in Hand’: How To Watch As Hollywood Helps Victims in Texas and Florida
Grab your wallets and get ready to give: “Hand in Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Relief,” the telethon that was announced last week with the purpose of raising money for the victims of Hurricane Harvey (and now, Hurricane Irma), takes place Tuesday night.
The show will be broadcast live at 8 p.m. ET from three different host stages in Los Angeles, Nashville, and New York City, and it will be broadcast by CBS, NBC, ABC, and Fox, as well as more than ten other networks including MTV, HBO, Univision, and Bravo. It can also be streamed through YouTube, as well as other online platforms like Twitter and Facebook.
The event’s lineup will feature performances, special appearances, and recorded tributes from a myriad of different celebrities, including Beyonce, Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney, Jamie Foxx, Justin Timberlake and Barbra Streisand.
“Hand in Hand,” as reported by ABC News, comes from the producers who also planned the Ariana Grande benefit concert in Manchester earlier this year. That concert, meant to assist the victims of a terrorist attack killed 22 people and severely injured more than 100, was able to raise $12 million.
