‘This Is Us’ Season Finale Beats ‘The Walking Dead’ Thanks To Zombie Jack — Ratings Watch

Among new shows, "Rise" was tops in the demos, while "Instinct" led with viewers. Live+3 TV ratings charts for the week ending March 18, 2018.

Jack lives! Well, no, not really. He’s about as alive as Carl on “The Walking Dead” at this point. But the Season 2 finale of NBC smash “This Is Us,” titled “The Wedding,” was a ratings bonanza, and featured an imaginary flash-forward (revealed to be a recurring Kate dream) in which Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) was still alive and renewing his wedding vows with Rebecca (Mandy Moore).

The episode was ultimately about the wedding of Kate (Chrissy Metz) to Toby (Chris Sullivan) and the ensuing drama. But with so much going on, viewers flocked to the finale, which was the No. 1 program among adults 18-49 (4.4 rating) for the week ending March 18, when three days’ worth of DVR and VOD time shifting is included. That means it jumped ahead of juggernaut “The Walking Dead,” which was close behind at No. 2.

NBC’s “Rise” led the week’s premieres (1.7 rating), followed by CBS’ “Instinct” (1.3) and ABC’s “For the People” (1.1). “Instinct” was the most-watched new show of the week, with 10.9 million viewers.

Meanwhile, with March Madness underway, several NCAA basketball games made it into the top 25 — giving TruTV a rare appearance on the ranker.

On Xfinity’s ranker of top video on-demand shows last week, “American Idol” premieres at a solid No. 3.
