Alliance of Women Film Journalists Names ‘The Artist’ 2011’s Best Film

The Alliance of Women Film Journalists has named “The Artist” last year’s best film, while also naming the film’s director Michel Hazanavicius Best Director.  The AWFJ also gave their award, the Eda, to Lynne Ramsey, naming her Best Woman Director for her film “We Need to Talk about Kevin.”

The AWFJ gave several special mentions, putting The Hollywood Reporter in their Hall of Shame for failing to invite any women on their Directors Roundtable. The alliance also gave a special mention for Actress Most in Need of a New Agent to “All Actress in ‘New Year’s Eve’.”
