‘Goliath’ Trailer: Billy Bob Thornton is a Lawyer With Nothing to Lose in David E. Kelley’s Amazon Drama
“Every giant has its weakness,” warns Amazon’s trailer for ‘Goliath,’ a new series starring Billy Bob Thornton, William Hurt, Maria Bello and Olivia Thirlby. Season One will premiere October 14th on Amazon Prime, and you can watch the first trailer below.
“Goliath” is a legal drama following formerly celebrated trial lawyer Billy McBride (Thornton), who hesitantly agrees to represent a wrongful death lawsuit against a firm he helped create. As a result, he and his small-time team deal with the consequences of uncovering a legal system that favors wealth and power above truth — a modern day “David and Goliath” tale where the bad guy is corruption disguised as justice.

The series comes from writers David E. Kelley (“Ally McBeal”) and Jonathan Shapiro (“The Practice”) and is directed by David Semel (“Madam Secretary”). The show will be executive produced by Kelley and Shapiro, as well as “Damien” producer Ross Fineman.

It’s a return to the small screen for Oscar-winning actor and filmmaker Thornton, who played a hitman in the FX miniseries “Fargo.” Hurt can be seen in the AMC sci-fi drama “Humans.” Bello stars in the upcoming film, “In Search of Fellini,” and Thirlby recently starred in “Between Us,” which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.
