Here’s your daily dose of an indie film, web series, TV pilot, what-have-you in progress — at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

Devil’s Horse

Logline:A man is forced to face his divorce when he encounters a mythical beast and is the victim of a shocking act of violence.

Elevator Pitch:“Devil’s Horse” is a dark, dramatic comedy about Brad. Newly single, Brad finds himself back in his Louisiana hometown. The alienation from his roots and his clumsy attempt to cling to the past come to a head when, on a sweltering afternoon drive, Brad literally runs into a Louisiana myth — the mysterious half-man, half-wolf from Louisiana folklore known as the Rougarou. Quickly finding himself lost in the forest, he is initially hopeful when he meets a seemingly friendly couple deep in the thick of the swamp. The pleasant exchange soon turns dark, however, when Brad is robbed and beaten.

Production Team:
Writer / Director / Editor: Michael Roberson
Producer: Sophia Yu
Director of Photography: Tom Rosenberg

About the Film:“Devil’s Horse” is equal parts fiction and autobiography, inspired by my own experience with divorce and depression. I’m working closely with my childhood friend Brad, whose similar life experiences also play into the world of the film. We wanted to collaborate in creating a world where this anxiety and anguish bubbles to the surface, giving us a chance to pick it apart and craft a specific tone and feel that gets at the experience of going through darker times.

Current Status:Successfully completed fundraising campaign on Kickstarter.
