Watch: Zombie Children Terrorize Elijah Wood and Alison Pill in New ‘Cooties’ Trailer
The unlikeliest of duos is teaming up to give us “Cooties,” a horror-comedy from the minds of Leigh Whannell (co-creator of “Saw” and “Insidious”) and Ian Brennan (co-creator of “Glee”).
The movie plays with the seemingly infantile myth of cooties and makes it a reality, rendering it the most deadly of infections that even adults should be afraid of. It all begins with just one bad nugget from the school cafeteria, and ends with a zombie epidemic that only children can contract.
Soon, the teachers are tasked with taking on the little zombies, and must band together to fight them off. Rainn Wilson, Alison Pill and Elijah Wood star as the teachers, along with a supporting cast including Jack McBrayer, Leigh Whannel, Nasim Pedrad, Ian Brennan and Jorgé Garcia.
“Cooties” hits VOD and opens in limited release on September 18.
