Two weeks after announcing its official lineup, The Film Society of Lincoln Center and UniFrance have revealed the special events for the 21st edition of Rendez-Vous with French Cinema. The festival, which showcases the best in contemporary French film, runs March 3-13 at Lincoln Center. An outline of all special events, including free talks, a photo exhibit, and education programs, is below.

Free Talks
Free tickets will be distributed at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center box office on a first-come, first-served basis starting one hour prior to each talk. The line may form in advance of this time. Limit one ticket per person, subject to availability.

Isabelle Huppert
Isabelle Huppert, who co-stars alongside Gérard Depardieu in this year’s Opening Night film “Valley of Love,” will sit down to discuss her multitudinous career.

Melvil Poupaud
Actor-director Melvil Poupaud will talk about his latest role in “The Great Game,” as well as his collaborations with such visionaries as Raúl Ruiz, Eric Rohmer, François Ozon, and Xavier Dolan.

French Touch Composers: Grégoire Hetzel, Mathieu Lamboley, and Mark Snow
Composers Grégoire Hetzel (“Summertime”), Mathieu Lamboley (“Lolo”), and Mark Snow (best known for the music behind “The X-Files,” as well as his work with Alain Resnais) discuss their craft. Moderated by Variety’s Elsa Keslassy. Monday, March 7, 7:30pm*

French Comedy with Julie Delpy
Writer, director, actor, and composer Julie Delpy—who brings her cross-cultural black comedy “Lolo” to this year’s Rendez-Vous—will sit down to discuss her experiences with humor on both sides of the camera. Moderated by Time magazine’s Stephanie Zacharek.

Photo Exhibit

Stars on the Jetway
On view March 3-13
Marlene Dietrich, Sean Connery, Catherine Deneuve, Marcello Mastroianni, and Elizabeth Taylor are just a few of the iconic actors and actresses featured in Stars on the Jetway, an exhibition of photographs produced by Air France. The series showcases black-and-white photos of French and international stars as they step out of Air France planes onto the runway during the 1950s and ’60s, a time when civil aviation was developing. 
*Venue: The Frieda and Roy Furman Gallery in the Walter Reade Theater, 165 West 65th Street. Free and open to the public.

Education Screenings

The 2016 edition of Rendez-Vous with French Cinema will feature educational collaborations with New York City high schools and middle schools. Over the course of three days, March 7-9 at 10am, director Rudi Rosenberg will present his latest film “The New Kid” to 800 students from across the five boroughs. Prior to the screenings, participating teachers will receive an educational kit that includes an in-depth exploration of bullying behaviors and tools for building empathy between students, as well as a cinema appreciation lesson plan to integrate into their curriculum.
