‘Legion’ Season 2 Trailer: TV’s Strangest Superhero Show Looks as Wonderfully Weird as Ever

Dan Stevens is back in Noah Hawley's dense, gorgeous FX superdrama.
'Legion' Season 2 Trailer: FX and Dan Stevens Stay Weird and Colorful

Turns out, you can only keep a mutant in a floating orb for so long. “Legion” is back for Season 2 in April and it looks like David Haller has managed to escape his temporary prison. FX released the longest look yet at the series’ upcoming sophomore season, and this show looks to be picking up where the dazzling opening eight episodes left off.

The plot of “Legion” has always been a little secondary to its dense, vivid visual playground, and we get plenty of that here. (The series shifted its production location from Canada to Los Angeles this season, so look out for some trips into the desert this year.)

Building on one of the best performances of 2017, Aubrey Plaza is back as the enigmatic Lenny, as is the astral plane-adjacent Oliver Bird (Jemaine Clement), who last season’s finale showed was someone slightly different than who we previously thought.

Among the other ensemble members playing folks trying to rid David of his lifelong mental parasite: Rachel Keller, Jean Smart, Hamish Linklater, Bill Irwin, Jeremie Harris and Amber Midthunder. Also, Navid Negahban (following the recasting of Said Taghmaoui) is on board as the latest incarnation of Amahl Farouk, the all-consuming Shadow King.

“Legion” Season 2 premieres April 3rd at 10 p.m. on FX.
