Watch out, Gary Oldman. Just when it seemed like the actor had this year’s Oscar-ready transformation on lockdown, here comes Kevin Spacey to throw a major curveball. The first trailer for Ridley Scott‘s “All the Money in the World” has arrived, and it features a shockingly unrecognizable Spacey as J. Paul Getty.

Scott’s second feature of the year following the disappointing “Alien: Covenant,” “Money” finds the director firmly back in adult drama territory. Written by David Scarpa, goes behind the scenes of the kidnapping of 16-year-old J. Paul Getty III. Spacey is joined by Michelle Williams and Mark Wahlberg.

Ridley Scott stormed Oscar season in 2015 with “The Martian,” which went on to earn nominations for Best Picture and Best Actor. Ridley Scott was one of the major snubs left out of the Best Director race, and he’s still seeking his first ever Oscar win for directing. Will “All the Money in the World” do the trick? Sony certainly hopes so; it releases the film December 8.
