AFI’s Top 10 Films and TV Shows of 2016: ‘Moonlight,’ ‘The Night Of’ and More Make the Cut
The American Film Institute has released its annual list highlighting the top 10 movies and TV series of the year, with “Moonlight,” “La La Land,” “The Americans” and “Game of Thrones” among the honorees; a special award was also given to the nearly eight-hour-long documentary “O.J.: Made in America.” New to the television list are “Atlanta” and “Stranger Things,” both of which premiered in 2016. As always, AFI‘s list is in alphabetical order and unranked.
“Year after year, we are reminded of the power of artists to bring us together as one,” said Bob Gazzale, AFI President and CEO. “AFI AWARDS is proud to recognize the achievements of the storytelling teams who have enlightened and informed us, guided and inspired us, and ultimately invited us to empathize with others in a reminder of our common humanity.” Full list below:
