Elevator Pitch: Down on their luck and desperate for a measure of success, two wannabe screenwriters decide to fully explore the depths of murder and crime within their story only to discover their obsession with their work has made it all too real. “The Depths” is a unique and modern story of obsession, betrayal and murder. Our protagonist, Mickey, a lovable reject, is obsessed with Film Noir films of the 40’s and ultimately…finds his life becoming more and more like one.

About the film: After making 6 (SAG) shorts, I arrived at the idea for “The Depths” and was thrilled! I researched director’s first features. If you do a cross section on certain directors…you will see trends that appear in their first features. I made a list of those trends. Then I made a list of my resources. The film for me is about the obsession to succeed. It wasn’t hard to write when I realized the story was about ME and others who are just trying to break into the industry but no one will give them the time of day!
