Kino Lorber has announced the acquisition of Bruno Dumont‘s new film “Li’l Quinquin” just ahead of its screening at two huge festivals.
“Li’l Quinquin” is making its North American premiere in the Contemporary World Cinema section of the Toronto International Film Festival and will also screen in a special event at the New York Film Festival.
Dumont has twice won the Canne’s Film Festival’s Grand Prize and the Camera d’Or. “L’il Quinquin” tells the humorous story of a police inspector who stumbles his way through a provincial murder investigation.
“I’ve been involved in releasing Bruno’s films since the very beginning and though he never ceases to amaze me I never expected to fall out of my chair laughing,” said Richar Lorber. “This film affords us the happy opportunity to introduce his unique vision and talent to wider new audiences.”
Kino Lorber intends a theatrical release during the first quarter of 2015.
