It’s October, and that means it’s the time of year to gorge yourself on horror films without having to feel weird about spending your free time watching on-screen bodies get eviscerated by ghouls and ghosts. Like pumpkin spice lattes, it’s a season indulgence no one is allowed to judge.
Although Halloween is still a month away, the exclusive poster for “Tales of Halloween” above will get you in the right spirit. The poster has a gnarled dead tree forming a skull against a full moon, with a parade of trick-or-treaters dressed as witches in a spooky barrage of Halloween iconography.
“Tales of Halloween” is a Halloween-themed anthology film, with 11 directors teaming up for 10 horror shorts about one Halloween night in the suburbs. Among the directors are Neil Marshall (“The Descent”), Darren Lynn Bousman (“Repo! The Genetic Opera”) and Lucky McKee (“May”).
“Tales of Halloween” will be released theatrically and on VOD on October 16.
