Disgruntled “True Detective” fans have finally been heard, and their complaints take the form of Seth Meyers’ new cheeky “Late Night” game show where contestants must guess whether a quote is from a fortune cookie or the second season of “True Detective.” The absurdity of some of the quotes is shocking, and surprisingly difficult to distinguish from equally vague fortune cookie sayings.

Replete with an ambiguous and very growly theme song, the game successfully taps into the confusing world of “True Detective.” Seth Meyers and his very lucky contestants finish off the game in the spirit of the HBO series by taking a shot of whiskey after thinking about the worst thing that’s ever happened to them.
