Nothing brings friends together like the untimely death of a friend, or at least that’s what the protagonists of “Burning Bodhi” seem to feel. Starring Kaley Cuoco, the Matthew McDuffie-directed and written film is a heartwarming and existential tale of lasting friendships, budding relationships and the inevitable mortality we all face.

In an awkward, last-minute effort to honor their most beloved and popular buddy, Bodhi, a group of lifelong friends trek their way back to their hometown to give their pal an appropriate farewell. As plans are made, hearts are broken and forgiveness pours out, the usual suspects begin to climb out of the woodwork in the unconventional reunion.

The Monterey Media film is set to debut in theaters on March 11, before finding its way onto VOD on April 26. Catch Indiewire’s exclusive trailer above.
